This web site is dedicated to telling the story of a unique combat unit, the 42nd Infantry Platoon Scout Dog, created during World War II. The unit was created to provide infantry units with early silent warnings of ambushes, booby traps and other dangerous situations. Its greatest use and contribution occurred during the Vietnam conflict. The unit was made up of teams of two; one dog and one dog handler. These teams saved the lives of many combat infantry men.

You are now invited to hear, see and read about their story and the bond that they developed with each other and their dogs. Their story is difficult to tell. It is hard for them to talk about their dogs without some emotion. They walked point with courage and confidence in their abilities and in the abilities of their dogs.

The bonds that they formed with each other and their dogs are still alive today thanks to a very special lady, Jackie McIntyre. We love her and consider ourselves as her Lost Boys.
