Photo taken at the WW II Memorial with John holding his Dad's flag that was at his Memorial Service back in 1990 as well as his name plate that he used in WW II. John's Dad enlisted as a doctor in WW II "for the duration" meaning for as long as the war lasted. He left as a Major and went back to practice as a family doctor in Illinois.

John says: "I grew up in Abingdon, Illinois. Admiral James Bond Stockdale was from there and won the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions while a POW in North Vietnam for seven years.

He was Ross Perot's running mate."
